Franklin Fountain and Shane Confectionery at Spruce Street Harbor Park this Summer!

We are thrilled to be participating in the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation’s Spruce Street Harbor Park and Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest this coming season.

The Franklin Fountain will set up shop at Spruce Street Harbor Park in what we’ve dubbed “ The SS Franklin Fountain,” an outfitted shipping container inspired by 30s and 40s naval ships. Out of the SS Franklin Fountain we will serve cups and cones of our favorite Franklin Ice Cream flavors along with a selection of Ice Cream Sodas and Sundaes. The two items we are most excited about are our Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich and The Mighty Warship Olympia.  They will both only be available at our “SS Franklin Fountain” location.  The Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich was a popular item we used to offer at shop, however we took it off the menu years ago to make room for new sundaes.  People still ask for it all the time, it was a huge crowd pleaser and we think it is the perfect treat to enjoy as you stroll down the boardwalk. The Mighty Warship Olympia is a unique creation just for Spruce Street Harbor Park, inspired, of course, by our new neighbor, The Olympia.  It consists of a waffle boat (a bowl made out of a fresh waffle), 2 scoops of ice cream, 2 toppings and Whipped cream with a cherry on top. Hot waffles and our staple house-made Waffle Cones will be made onsite in view of the public.

Our vintage circus/carnival themed location at the Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest Lodge will feature a selection of summer-inspired treats from Shane Confectionery.  Popcorn will be popped onsite and cotton candy will be spun in unique flavors like Lavender, Cinnamon, and Mint Chocolate Chip.  And of course, no “boardwalk” candy shop would be complete without Salt Water Taffy and our creamy House-made Fudge.  We are also organizing a photo booth, where customers can dress up in period costumes and have their photos taken for a fee.  It will look like you’ve run away to the circus donning a variety of costumes and props, that range from cowboy, to mummer, to sideshow performer!
Both locations are set to open Memorial Day weekend beginning Friday, May
