Philadelphia To Get Jazzed

Philadelphia To Get Jazzed

City officials and music community organizers will launch Philadelphia Jazz Appreciation Month, a local celebration featuring events and music venues citywide, in April. The concept has been adopted from National Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) observed by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. This year marks the 10 anniversary of the national celebration. Locally, the initiative is designed to raise awareness and appreciation of the current music scene and Philadelphia’s important jazz legacy. The celebration of Philadelphia Jazz Appreciation Month is a partnership of the Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy and the Office of the City Representative.
