Welcome To The Christmas Village at Dilworth Plaza

On December 1 Mayor Michael Nutter lights the holiday tree at City Hall.

In the same day Philadelphia’s holiday season officially kicks off at the Christmas Village Hall.

But the third annual Chritmas Village at Dilworth Plaza is already opening to the public from Thanksgiving Day. It opens daily through Christmas Eve, next to City Hall.

Browse through the Village’s 80 quaint, wooden booths full of gifts for everyone on your list, including traditional German Christmas ornaments from Käthe Wohlfahrt, hand blown glass, wooden toys, jewelry and much more.

When you’ve built up your appetite, head to the food tent for bratwursts from Brahaus Schmitz then quench your thirst with some hot German Gluhwien (mulled wine) from Chaddsford Winery. Be sure to save some room for assorted pastries and European desserts.

Daily live performances on the main stage and the Village’s newest addition – a full-size carousel – add to the festive atmosphere.

Christmas Village at Dilworth Plaza: November 25 – December 24.11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Christmas Eve: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.). City Hall (15th and JFK Boulevard).
