All City of Philadelphia offices will be closed and City services curtailed on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2014 and New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2015 — both legal holidays.
Streets Commissioner David J. Perri reminds residents that trash and recycling collections will not be collected on Thursday, December 25and Thursday, January 1. City officials are asking all residents, whose normal collection is on those Thursdays, to place their rubbish and recycling out for collection on Friday, December 26 and also Friday, January 2 during these upcoming winter holidays. The rest of the regularly scheduled week’s collections during those holiday periods will be delayed one day.
All City District Health Centers are closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as are all branch offices of the Department of Licenses and Inspections; the North and Northeast Municipal Service Centers; the Marriage License Bureau; all Department of Recreation facilities; the Free Library of Philadelphia and all of its branches and the executive offices of the Philadelphia Parking Authority, as well as its Violations branch, at 9th and Filbert streets.
