Invisible River on the Schuylkill Invisible River is a cultural event, unprecedented in Philadelphia’s history, that will animate Fairmount Park and the Schuylkill River with dance, music and visual art for 4 special evenings this June. A chorus of 11 dancing singers will perform the haunting folk compositions by stick and a stone‘s Elliott Harvey, leading audience members through interactive choreography installations on the Schuylkill River Trail.
The audience will arrive at a vacant parking lot transformed into a carnival of color by the artists from SpArc Philadelphia. Upon arrival, two aerialists suspended beneath the tresses of the Strawberry Mansion Bridge begin to dance. The event starts in the evening at 8pm on Saturdays, June 15th & 22nd and Sundays, June 16th & 23rd.
We are celebrating the Schuylkill River, the ephemeral nature of the summer, and the idea that live performance can bring together a city in a way like nothing else can. I believe that your website, thePhilaNews.com, would significantly assist us in reaching new audiences that are interested in supporting our work and bringing this public art to life in Fairmount Park. Can you help us publicize this Kickstarter event? The Kickstarter campaign launches this Thursday, April 11th at 9am and runs till Saturday, May 11th at midnight. Please let me know your thoughts.
