Welcome America! is Philadelphia’s 4th of July, a multiday free festival from June 24- July 4th celebrates America’s birthday in America’s birthplace. Fantastic title sponsor Wawa, Inc. is back for their second year helping to make this a Fourth of July you won’t want to miss.
Visitors can look forward to the great food, history, free entertainment and fun they have come to expect from this “incredibly Philadelphia” celebration of the birth of our nation. There is something special for residents, visitors, teens, grandparents and everyone in between.
Over 25 of Philly’s top restaurants and Food Trucks; Philadelphia’s own jazz artist Gerald Veasley; Philadelphia Freedom Jazz Orchestra; dozens of local residents and visitors attending the Taste of Philadelphia, the first Festival event. While most are familiar with our 4th of July concert and its place as the “Largest Free Concert in America”, there is also an entire week of additional activities to enjoy. For the second year in a row we are thrilled to offer not one, not two, but three spectacular fireworks shows that will light up Philadelphia’s night skies! This year’s Taste of Philadelphia is even bigger and better than ever before, as the Festival is expanded two blocks over the Chestnut Street bridge to Front Street with the addition of a second music stage. The world-class entertainment and admission to Penn’s Landing is free, with bite-sized “tastes” just a few dollars. Taste of Philadelphia took place Friday, June 24, ; Saturday, June 25,. And will take place on Sunday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Penn’s Landing, Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street you can enjoy Gospel group James “JJ” Hairston and Youthful Praise; hundreds of local residents and visitors from across the country; gospel choirs, jazz musicians and blues bands including Frank Bey and the Swing City Blues Band, Delton Walker, the Sounds of Life Choir and Zak Williams and One Akord; Philadelphia restaurants including Chenango, Tiffin, Gigi Restaurant, Jamaican Jerk Hut, Keatings River Grill, Darlings Diner; and food trucks such as Dapper Dog and Call Me Cupcakes.
