Yulia Tymoshenko Goes to Jail for Mocking a Judge

Today Ukraine ex-PM and the leader of opposition “gas princess” Yulia Tymoshenko was arrested by the decision of court. During the hearing of the case of her abusing her powers as a Prime Minister by signing a natural gas import contract with Russia in 2009, Tymoshenko was insulting the judge, and her supporters disturbing the trial. As a result she was arrested and put into investigation isolation ward.

Being an inspirer and one of the main figures in Ukrainian “Orange revolution”, right now Tymoshenko is the head of an opposition party “Batkovshina” (“Fatherland”). After her arrest her party followers announced that they intend to mobilize Ukrainian citizens in marches against these “political repressions”. They believe that if Ukrainians are active the country may overthrow the government by the next month.
